OmShanti Community Conversation at the Kendale Lakes branch library on “Peace – the Way of the Pilgrim”

April 25: 19 souls participated in Miami’s first community conversation at the Kendale Lakes Branch Library. Sisters Waddy, Meeta, and Kathy facilitated the conversation. Inspirations on the theme was shared by Sr. Waddy which created the background for the participants to engage in deep and authentic conversations using “conversation starter” questions. Participants were asked if they considered themselves to be a pilgrim, or if they wanted to go on a pilgrimage. Most have never considered this question, but engaged with the idea after being prompted by Waddy’s opening remarks and personal sharing. It was interesting to note that most participants came to the USA from other countries and recognized those journeys as pilgrimages. It seemed like these conversations generated self-respect as participants appreciated their own life journeys in a new way.
Video of concluding sharing from this conversation is available here.
